When choosing Mat-Su Midwifery for your birth experience, we want you to understand the type of resources that are available to you for before and after your child is born.
Before, during and after your pregnancy
Our midwives at Mat-Su Midwifery are committed to supporting your unique birth experience. We respect the natural, instinctual ability of each mother as she approaches this very important event in her life. We strive to provide education and new opportunities for mothers and families to be empowered and prepared for their childbirth experience.
Though one of our goals is to best equip you and your family for childbirth, our care does not end at the time of delivery. Our care continues through the first six weeks of your child’s life as we meet to discuss postpartum topics including; hormonal shifts, breastfeeding, restoring strength to the muscles of your abdomen and pelvic floor, and the healing of your uterus. We also get the opportunity to watch your child grow and support you and your family through this transition. We offer in-house expert care from Heather Barber our lactation consultant and postpartum doula if additional needs arise.
What to do when your pregnancy ends??
We have a comprehensive staff including three Family Nurse Practitioners and two Registered Nurses that will be able to continue care for your new family member as well as yourself and everyone else! See our Family Practice page for more details.
